Partnering for a Bigger Impact: Pursuing Fiscal Sponsorship
As Proyecto Chigayaco grows, so does our need for more substantial funding to expand our impact. To achieve this, we have begun serious talks with the Middle East Peace Civic Forum (MEPCF) to establish a fiscal sponsorship relationship. This partnership will enable us to receive larger donations and provide tax benefits to our donors, significantly enhancing our capacity to protect the rainforest and support the local community.
The mission of MEPCF aligns closely with ours. They are dedicated to transforming the Israeli-Palestinian relationship through conversations that create a present reality and a future filled with peace and cooperation. Similarly, Proyecto Chigayaco aims to bring peace and sustainable development to the embattled region of Putumayo, Colombia. Both projects focus on creating a new paradigm of communication, fostering partnerships, and addressing the root causes of conflict and environmental degradation.
Our Progress So Far
We have reached out to several organizations, and our discussions with MEPCF have been particularly promising. While this is the first time both Proyecto Chigayaco and MEPCF are engaging in a fiscal sponsorship arrangement, we are optimistic about the potential for mutual growth and impact. Currently, we are developing our game plan for setting up the sponsorship and determining the administrative tasks required on both sides.
Our goal is to have this sponsorship up and running by or before the end of September, allowing us to begin receiving larger donations that will help us expand our conservation efforts. This partnership represents a significant step forward for Proyecto Chigayaco, providing us with the financial stability and credibility needed to achieve our long-term goals.
Why This Partnership Matters
The fiscal sponsorship with MEPCF will not only facilitate larger donations but also strengthen our administrative and operational capabilities. By aligning with an organization that shares our values and vision, we can leverage their experience and resources to enhance our work. The collaboration will allow us to:
Increase Funding: Access larger donations and grants that were previously out of reach.
Enhance Credibility: Benefit from the established reputation of MEPCF to build trust with donors and partners.
Strengthen Operations: Improve our administrative processes and financial management with guidance from MEPCF.
Moving Forward
While we are still in the early stages of this partnership, we are committed to ensuring a smooth and effective setup. Our team is working closely with MEPCF to outline the necessary steps and ensure that both organizations are prepared for the responsibilities and opportunities that come with fiscal sponsorship.
We are excited about the possibilities this partnership holds and grateful for the support of our community as we take this important step. Together, we can make a more significant impact on the environment and the communities we serve.
